Skuratov Coffee

Since 2013 · Viktor Skuratov

Overview

Skuratov Coffee was founded in 2013 in Omsk, Siberia by Viktor Skuratov, who had spent a year and a half failing in the capsule-machine rental business before pivoting to a specialty coffee shop and then, months later, to the 'brew bar' format that defined the brand. A 5-million-ruble investment from Aleksandr Galiulov, Andrei Negomedyanov and Roman Popov funded early expansion; Omsk food distributor Viktor Shkurenko took 35% in 2017; and by 2024-2025 Skuratov operated roughly 58-67 cafes across Omsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Samara, with two roasting facilities and an explicit 'In Omsk We Trust' brand identity built around the 'Skuratov People' subculture.

Known for

  • Brought cold brew, nitro coffee and air latte to Russia's specialty scene
  • 'In Omsk We Trust' Siberian-origin brand identity
  • Two roasting facilities (Omsk and Moscow)
  • 60+ brew bars across 7 Russian cities
  • 'Skuratov People' subculture rebrand by World Brand Design Society

Why it matters

Skuratov is the Russian federal-scale third-wave chain that grew out of Siberia rather than Moscow or St. Petersburg — proof that the country's specialty coffee development happened in regional cities first. Its 'brew bar' format and explicit Omsk-origin branding helped establish the template now copied by other Russian specialty chains.
