Maverick & Farmer is a bean-to-cup roaster founded in Bengaluru by three partners: Tej Thammaiah, a third-generation coffee farmer who manages the family's 140-acre Ajjikutira estate in Pollibetta, Coorg; Ashish D'abreo, head roaster and barista; and Sreeram G. The roastery is known for experimental processing — products like Ol' Smoky (top-grade arabica green beans cold-smoked in a smokehouse for 13–14 hours) and Orange You Curious? (beans fermented with orange juice). Three cafés operate, two in Bengaluru and one in Goa, all sourcing primarily from the family farm in Coorg.
Maverick & Farmer is one of the few Indian roasters that owns the farm, the mill, and the roastery, and uses that vertical integration to push experimental processing — fruit-juice fermentation, smoke-curing, anaerobic — that most Indian roasters don't have the producer-side relationships to attempt. For an Indian directory, that combination of estate ownership in Coorg plus an experimental-processing reputation in Bangalore is genuinely rare.
