Monogram was founded in 2014 in Calgary by Jeremy Ho, Justin Eyford, and Ben Put — three Phil & Sebastian alumni who launched as a pop-up coffee cart at the DaDe Art and Design Lab. Ho and Put are back-to-back Canadian Barista Champions (Ho 2012, Put 2013/2014); Put has since won the title seven times and placed third at the 2025 World Barista Championship in Milan. The company has grown to four Calgary cafes plus Vancouver sister concept Soon Coffee.
The educational and competitive face of Canadian specialty coffee. Monogram's combined competition record is one of the most decorated of any single roastery globally, and its accessibility-first packaging design represents a deliberate counter to specialty's elitism problem.
