Tim Wendelboe — 2004 World Barista Champion and World Cup Tasters Champion — opened his Oslo micro-roastery and espresso bar in Grünerløkka in 2007 with financial backing from his former employer Solberg & Hansen, then owners of Stockfleth's. The roastery was named World's Best Roastery in 2013, and Wendelboe's light, terroir-driven roasting philosophy and direct producer partnerships became the template for what is now globally known as the Nordic roast style.
